There Can be Miracles When You Believe!
(Mom note: Nathan found out yesterday that he is being transferred to the Beaver area because a few of the elders in the mission who have been waiting to go to their original area...Russia..got clearance to go! So he is filling in the hole that they are leaving and will finish his training with a different companion.. he loved being with the Zone Leaders, but is ready for the new challenge)
We'll start off with miracles! Ed, a recent convert, was diagnosed 27 years ago with MRSA. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I've been told it's terrible. So if you want to look it up, be my guest lol. So the way he told us it works, is you get a number after you get tested for it. If your number is higher than 170 you're considered "incurable". Ed was sitting at 168. He had 9 treatments lined up which should have taken his number down to around 40. After his 9 treatments, he was at 152. He asked for a blessing because they were beginning to think he was untreatable. We gave him one. He went to get tested the next day for his numbers, and got an 18!! If it's under 20, it's inactive. So he was cured. Kinda crazy cuz he's suffered for 27 years.
2nd miracle is long story short, we knocked on this guy's house, no answer so we moved on. After the next house, we all went back to the first guy's house and knocked again. He answered and said he had been praying to God for help because his life was falling apart. He had talked with missionaries before and discontinued lessons. We showed up in his life right when he was praying so that's a miracle I'd say! His name is Nabin and he's from Nepal! He came to church and wants to keep meeting so that's cool that we were able to be a blessing in his life.
Babe of the week: GRANDMA SUE! She's an older lady in our ward that needed help moving a bunch of stuff out of her garage! Mostly antiques and random junk. She gave us a dope hand massager and some paintings her mom painted which are super cool. She then fed us a bunch of some of the best chili I've ever had... No offense Mom! So that was really cool. She insists on us calling her Grandma Sue. What a sweetheart.
Beef of the week: We were out knocking and this homie opened the door and we told him who we were and what we do, and he shook his head and while closing the door said, "You bothered me for this *cuss word*" and that was really sad. Hopefully God can prevail in his life sometime and he can become happy again!
Poem of the week:
Repentance
How sweet repentance soothes the soul
And eases all our cares
Relieves the burdens of our sins
Unlocks those golden stairs
The balm of sweet forgiveness
That flows like gentle rain
And comforts, calms, strengthens us
And takes away our pain
How grateful for our Savior
Whose kindly mercies show
The marvelous atoning one
God's Son, who we all know
Hope y'all had a great week and a good Halloween! Been praying for y'all and hoping the best! Remember to follow the spiritual promptings you get, they'll bless you and those around you always!
Much love <3
