That's My Grandparent's House!
WHAT UP! I hope you're all doing well! I've been praying for y'all and hoping you've been doing good! I'm doing so good over here in Cranberry! Just doing the lord's work
This week was actually really good for finding people to teach! On Tuesday, Elder Occon and I were together on an exchange in Butler, and we went to OYM on main street! We ended up getting 8 phone numbers so we could meet again, and placed 5 Books of Mormon! I also bought a dope Nike shirt at a thrift shop on the street while teaching someone about the restoration. lol. I'd say that's multitasking at its finest! But it was really good to go to an area where people are more willing to listen! My area is a lot of working with less active members, and members in general. So that was a really cool experience.
Babe of the week! Babe of the week this week was Carly! It was someone Elder Haskell, Elder Lafferty and I found in Freedom! (That's in my area) and we found her on Tuesday, she told us that she was given a Bible from a girl in her dream, and that it was cursed. She asked us to bless the book for her, and return it! So we took it home, prayed for her to have comfort about the book, and met with her again on Saturday! We gave her the book, and she said it felt better, and that we had blessed it haha.. Then we taught her the restoration! She was very accepting of it, and believed in everything we had taught her! When I bore my testimony about Joseph Smith, and recited the first vision, she started to tear up, and she said that her heart was pounding so fast and that she felt so much peace during it! The spirit was so strong! She ended up coming to church the following day, and after the service asked, "Where can I sign up to be baptized in your church?" It was crazy!!! so we're gonna work with her to be able to be baptized... She needs to quit smoking haha so I'll keep ya updated!
Beef of the week! One day we were "Inspired door approaching" and we knocked on this guy's house, and he was really rude. Kinda yelled at us and got mad at us for knocking the doors around there. So we left, and went to go to the next house. And as we were walking towards it, he came out and yelled at us again saying that it was his grandparents house, and that we needed to just leave. Although he used a very different language I'm using haha so that was kinda lame.. But it's fine, his loss! He doesn't get to have the wonderful opportunity of learning how he can inherit the Kingdom of God!
Poem! Follow Him:
I like to think I follow God
And Jesus Christ, His Son
I like to think I'm living right
And not just having fun
I like to think my thoughts are pure
And I keep the commandments too
I like to think that I'm okay
Well that may not be true
So many times I find it's true
I'm not the man I should be
In spite of how I try to be
I find that man just isn't me
I know that my attempts are feeble
Along the lines of goodness
So I must rely on His sweet mercy
And all my sins confess
The atonement is the most important event to ever happen and I rely on it probably way more than I should
but I love Jesus Christ so much! He is the reason I am where I am today, and he is the reason I will continue to learn and grow. This IS the true gospel, and I hope you all can feel my love, as well as Jesus Christ's love for you. Have a wonderful week!
